Minimum Qualifications:

A valid Class A CDL without airbrake restrictions from the state that you declare to be your point of permanent domicile

12 months of recent/current validated experience or 150,000 validated miles OR

2 years validated experience with current driving experience in the last 12 months (6 months of which must be consecutive, but not current). Each applicant will be reviewed on a case by case basis.

If an applicant does not meet the above requirements, but has five (5) years continuous service (does not have to be current) and no more than a two (2) break in service the applicant would be eligible for consideration of employment

If an applicant does not meet the above requirements, the experience will be reviewed on a case by case basis, and the applicant may be a candidate for the mentoring program.

If the applicant holds a valid Class A CDL, but has not been driving in a Class A capacity to meet the above requirements, the experience will be reviewed on a case by case basis, and the applicant may be a candidate for the mentoring program.

Read, write, speak, and clearly understand the English language

DOT applications must be complete and accurate as well as include 10 years of employment

Must meet or exceed the medical standard of DOT, including passing a physical exam and drug test administered by a company approved facility

Possess a valid Social Security Card

No reckless driving violations in the last ten (10) years

No suspension of license in the last five (5) years – each suspension will be handled on a case by case basis

No more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years, the violations cannot be a term able offense or no more than 10MPH over the posted speed limit – No more than three (3) moving violation in the last five (5) years, the violations cannot be a term able offense or no more than 10MPH over the posted speed limit – No at fault accidents within the last five (5) years – No more than three (3) moving or non-moving violations in a five (5) year period.Each MVR will be reviewed on a case by case basis

No failed or refused drug or alcohol test

No felony convictions within the last ten (10) years from the time restitution was completed. Convictions older than ten (10) years will be considered on a case by case basis.

No controlled substance events – No crimes against another person of ANY type

Misdemeanors will be considered on a case by case basis

No DWI, DUI, BAC, or Open Container convictions in the last ten (10) years

Present a clean and professional appearance

Successful completion of Corrugated Logistics road test

Considerations for 12 months continuous/current driving requirements:

  • Must be a Pratt Corrugated Logistics employee for a minimum of 3 years in a driving capacity, must be employed in good standing (per policy).
  • Must have a clean MVR for the 12 months prior to changing internal jobs or going on approved medical leave
  • Must have good attendance per the policy
  • Recertification process of a maximum of 4 weeks with a 2 week minimum. Process includes riding and driving with a selected company driver, qualifying to a pre-determined recertification criteria, set forth by Pratt Corrugated Logistics Safety Director and Senior Management
  • No more than 1 moving violation in the last two years of driving while meeting the requirement of item 2 above

If an employee is on approved medical leave and administratively terminated the following will apply:

  • Must return to work no later than one (1) year from the date the approved medical leave commenced.
  • Before operating a PL truck on public roads the driver must complete two (2) weeks of yard service/training and one (1) week with an assigned PL mentoring driver as assigned by PL management.
  • After the three (3) week recertification process a final review by PL management will be conducted after reviewing the performance of the driver to determine if they are released to drive solo on public roads.
